Notary Services
Free, basic Notary services are offered at Marion Public Library. Notary services are only available in-person, during regular library hours, and subject to staff availability. It is recommended to call ahead to schedule an appointment with the Notary.
Please call 740-387-0992 to speak with the Notary and make an appointment.
What to Bring to a Notary Appointment:
- All parties involved in the notarization process, including witnesses, must provide at least one form of identification. Acceptable forms of identification include: a U.S. passport, driver’s license, government-issued non-driver identification card, or other form of government issued identification with the signature and photograph of the bearer. Identification must be current.
- Documents to be notarized must be filled out entirely, leaving no blank spaces, except for the signature. Documents must be signed in the presence of the notary.
- If the document to be notarized requires a witness, patrons must provide their own witness, as the Library will not provide one for them.
Please note:
- Auto titles must include the buyer’s name and address.
- The Notary cannot provide legal guidance, opinion, or assistance on the document being notarized. Please contact an attorney for legal advice.
- The Notary cannot certify true copies of passports, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, or any other similar documents. Only issuing agencies can certify true copies.
- The Notary reserves the right to decline service in cases that raise any issue of authenticity, ambiguity, or doubt.
- All applicable Ohio laws apply to notary public services offered at the Marion Public Library.
