To stay current and comply with the ADA accessibility requirements before the mandatory deadline in 2026, we did an update. The update makes web content more accessible to everyone. We made the move to a more modern template that changed the design and layout of the home page from the previous one. The biggest change for us, is in the back-end functionality of the website making it easier for us to serve you by managing data, processing requests, and storing information to support access. The most noticeable change to you, the patron, will be the calendar that is highlighted differently on the home page, and when clicking an event, you will find a new look to the listing. What has been added is the ability for library staff to manage registrations through the event listing. You will start to see this appear on some of our regular programs that you generally had to sign up for at the front desk. Patrons will also find they will be able to put events on their own calendars by clicking on the “add to calendar” button on the listing The new look offers a better sitemap, which makes the content of the website more findable for search engines like Google.
