SUMMER READING KICKS OFF JUNE 1 Challenges being planned, prizes being acquired We are excited to finalize plans for this year’s summer reading program. The theme is Color Our World, and Marion Public Library and Let’s Read 20 have already planned a great lineup of summer programming for kids, families and adults related to art and creativity. All programs finalized are listed on our calendar and on our Summer Reading webpage MarionLibrary.org/SR. Summer Reading fun will run June 2 through July 31, where kids, teens and adults will be able to sign up to earn prizes for completing reading challenges throughout the summer. Reading challenge logs with guidelines can be picked up starting June 2. Individuals can sign up anytime throughout the summer. Summer Reading opening program will be Whiz Bang Science Show, returning with another fun show. Look for the return of robotics camps, these are geared to two different age groups. Plus, family fun nights, teen cupcake decorating, mocktails for adults, along with the usual programs everyone enjoys. If you aren’t sure what the right amount of connection is for you, use the 5-3-1 guideline to experiment. Your social habits correspond with the highest amount of well-being. You do have to make relationships a priority to be fully healthy, experiment with strengthening your social muscles, and build community where you live, work, and play.
