About Marion Public Library
Our Mission:
The Marion Public Library enhances the quality of life in our community by encouraging reading and the pursuit of lifelong learning.
Marion Public Library has proudly served the residents of Marion County since 1907. For more than a century, we have connected our community with books, information, programs, and experiences that encourage reading, lifelong learning, and personal growth. Today, the library offers a wide range of services, resources, and programs for all ages.
The BookMarks of Marion Public Library is a dedicated group of volunteers who support the library’s mission by operating the BookMarket, sponsoring programs, and helping fund library services, facilities, and future initiatives.
Meet Swoop, our beloved mascot owl! Hatched at the library in early 2016, Swoop brings smiles to children and families at library programs and community events. Whoooo better to inspire a love of reading?
A “Read to Swoop” plushie is available for purchase at the library’s front desk—perfect for the young readers in your life.
