Coping with Persons with Dementia

Primary tabs

Starting May 17 and lasting for four Wednesdays

Kindred Care returns with a series: "Coping with Persons with Dementia"

This series is for families and those who are caring for persons with dementia. It will allow the caregivers a chance to explore what it is like to be in the body and mind of someone with dementia. Focus will also be put on making sure caretakers take care of themselves as well; an often overlooked aspect of caretaking.

Our lecturer will be Melissa Scott, RN, BSN who grew up outside of Ft. Worth Texas. She is a graduate of Ohio University with an associate’s degree in applied science of nursing in 2002. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2011, also from Ohio University. Melissa has worked for Kindred Healthcare for 7 years. During that time she spent a lot of time caring for persons with dementia on the secured unit. She also trained the staff in dealing with persons with dementia and their unique needs. Melissa lives in Nashport with her husband Steve and their four children. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and attending concerts.

Repeats every week 4 times.
