Galion’s Bad Bishop Brown & America’s First Heretic
Wednesday, October 18 & 25 @ 4:00 pm
Session One: The first lecture-style session of this class will delve into the incredible life, career, and heresy trials of Bishop William Montgomery Brown - an Episcopal Bishop infamous for his belief in Communism and his repudiation of
Episcopal orthodoxy.
Session Two: The second session will take you on a journey to Galion to tour the home of Bishop Brown and his wife, Ella, at the Brownella Cottage. This historic home, built in 1887, is filled entirely with the Brown's original furniture and is operated by the Galion History Center as a house museum.

Tanesha Pickering
Tanesha was born and raised in Galion, Ohio. In 2014, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in History. For the past six years, Tanesha has been working as the Executive Director of the Galion History Center and its historic campus.
